365 Snap Shots of Life: Day 207

Good Morning! Today I will share a short poem I wrote for my book, Salsa! the Taste of Life. I keep saying it will be out soon, and just hang in there with me because I tell you, “birthing” a book IS a process!  Happy Wednesday and I hope you like my post for today! Life is too short, smile at a stranger, open the door for someone and call that friend you haven’t heard from in a while. Yes, it may be their turn to call you, but so what? Don’t keep score, call them anyway and make their day! 🙂

Words Are Swords

Words are swords

Some are sharp

And some are shrill—

As the sound of a drill.

It takes talents and skill,

To say the right words;

To bring life and encourage,

But never to kill.

Words are swords;

Double edged and ready to go.

Use them every day and everywhere.

Pick them as a warrior,

With much thought and care.

Words are swords.

Don’t ever waste them.

Learn how to use them,

To make friends,

To soothe your foes.

  1. Great poem! Is your book out yet? I would love to buy it!!! 🙂 I’m in the that prosess myself, my first book of poems will be released before Christmas. So I know all those stages in the prosess 🙂 Best of luck!

    1. Thank you! No, my book layout is currently being designed. I already went through the whole editing process which turned out better than I had anticipated. When your editor loves your work, that is heaven! I will let you know when mine comes out. Salsa! The Taste of Life, is a volume of mostly short stories and poems. The poems I’ve been posting on my blog lately were edited because I had TOO much material; so I thought, what better way to promote my book, by publishing some of the edits on here! I am so glad you enjoyed it and I too look forward to buying your book! 🙂

  2. Hi again 😉 Did you see I linked to you in my blogpost two days ago? 🙂 My book will have the title 3163 words about life, but it will be in Norwegian 🙂 Looking forward to your book, keep me posted. Love
