THANK YOU!

I came to the USA
Though I love my country of birth,
The place of my blood,
Is still in my heart…
BUT I’ve lived in this great land,
For most of my life.

As a girl I ran on the sand
Of her finest beaches.IMG_2151
I grew up eating
Georgia’s delightful peaches.
I’ve seen the sunrise in the east,
To watch it descend
In the far west.
My eyes have seen a feast,
But the sun setting at home, baloney
Is always the finest,the best.

All of my blessings
Have been given  me here,
In this wonderful place.
Where God has given me favor,
And shown me His face.
I’m forever thankful
For all that I have:
A life rich with flavor. IMG_1760

I look into the eyes of my loved ones…
Daily I see,
Daily I hear,
Daily I know,  whom I’m indebted to. ffpoets

I am rich without measure,
I look all around,
In my home, so MUCH treasure!
I appreciate you God,
For bringing me here,
I say to you now, and forevermore!!
” Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of my family, friends and fans!”

365 Snap shots of Life: Day 104

I discovered how much I enjoy painting when my kids were toddlers. One frigid winter afternoon in Georgia I took out some finger paint and construction paper and they spent the next few hours delving into the paint with such enthusiasm that after a little while I joined them. I did a little picture and I put it on the fridge next to theirs. When their dad came home from work that evening, he noticed mine right away and he was as surprised  as I was at how good it turned out. Ever since, I enjoy experimenting with different mediums. One day I am going to get the nerve up to use oil paints. So I leave you with this picture I did in water-color. Happy week-end everyone!

Lonesome Coyote

Tell me what you see lonesome coyote,

the moon is your lover,

bathes you gently with light,

you respond in a howl- haunting Don Quixote.

365 Snap Shots of Life: Day 64

THE HORSE THAT DAVE BUILT

When my kids were all at the age when they think you can do anything, they asked me to make them a horse. At that time they were all in love with Zorro and anything to do with horses. I am not at all handy with tools, but I did try to assemble a horse out of scrap wood their dad kept in the shed. Needless to say, it was a huge failure. When their dad came home that night, I turned the project over to him and he looked at me as if I had lost my mind. He laughed at my poor attempt but then he went to the shed and brought out more wood and he made a horse as our kids watched him. When he finished it a short while later, they all squealed in delight. That wood horse brought many smiles to my kids for a long time after that. Happy Sunday everyone

365 Snap Shots of Life Blog Challenge: Day 59

Childhood is such a fleeting time in a person’s life. Mine wasn’t all that great and instead of being bitter about it I chose to give my kids what I didn’t get. I’m not referring to material things. All kids want is to be shown is love, affection affirmation and validation,  consistently and unconditionally. Children ought not to have to perform to earn these. Give a child these and you would have won their heart, molded their soul and caused their spirit to awaken so they can go and be all they were created for. Have you hugged your kid(s) today and told them you love them no matter what?
