Have you ever felt like you’re the one everyone depends on for seemingly everything? You’re the one people try out their best and worst lines on. You’re the one they leap, twirl, tip-toe, prance and dance on. You’re covered will all sorts of scuff-marks and scratches. There are days you don’t feel special; in fact you have days when you’re so exhausted that you just lay there.
Welcome to that part of life I’ve come to embrace and dubbed “The Stage”.
If you’re a parent you’re acquainted with being the stage for your kids. You’re the one they try their best and worst lines on. You’re the one they try their firsts on; from crawling, to first steps, then jumping, running and eventually dancing. You’re covered with all sorts of scuff-marks and scratches but you keep going nonetheless because out of those, you know dreams are launched. And, as parents we all have days when we feel overlooked, ignored and forgotten. The activity continues though because you know the show must go on.
You know that at the end of the performance you’ll get no credit. The actors will be lauded. The director and his crew will receive pats on their backs. The lights will shine but you’re underneath it all. Still you don’t care because when you’re called to be the stage, you know that without you, they won’t have a place to stand on. Without you dreams won’t come true. Much is said about great performances; little is ever mentioned about the stages they played on. It takes great confidence to be a stage. You must have a firm grasp on yourself; a knowing that you are a vital part of the show’s success.
When the lights go out and the audience goes home, you’ll just lay there, quietly fulfilled, resting for the next performance.
When my son turned 12 he received a desert tortoise. One of our neighbors learned of my son’s fascination with such creatures and he gave it to him. A few days later someone stole Snap from our front porch where we kept him. That was a sad day for my son and even though he was a good sport about it he never got over it.
This past Saturday our next door neighbors found a desert tortoise in their front yard and they gave him to my son. I was so happy for him. So todays’ picture is a tribute to our new family member, Chucho.
This sign tickles me. The missing W in what is supposed to read water, got tired of the drought and went to find itself. As for Basic Water… REALLY?? As opposed to what, Premium Water? THAT’s so redundant! Have a great day readers 🙂
A couple of months ago I was notified by a “friendly” notice from Nevada Energy Power Company that they would be sending a crew to my home to install a Smart Meter in order to replace the old analog meter. I thought, what’s wrong with the one I had and then I thought nothing of it. A week or two later, a man showed up and removed the old analog meter and replaced it with a new Smart Meter ( SM ).
It’s been two months now and I am seeing a huge difference in my daughters who happen to have a bedroom right by the place where the SM is located. I contacted my Naturopath Doc and I told her about how my teen daughters are all of sudden battling insomnia. She informed me of the truth behind the SM agenda and I am posting it on here for you to inform yourself.
Last Monday I contacted NV Energy and asked for the meter to be replaced. The woman I spoke with was less than friendly as she asked for a reason for having such a request. I told her the SM (Smart Meter) was disrupting our sleep patterns and she almost laughed in my face, saying she hasn’t heard of such an outlandish claim. I told her to go on the web and Google it because stories of how the SMs are messing with people’s health are in abundance. She answered by saying that they can replace it but that in 2012, I’m going to have to take it back because by then the SMs will be mandatory. REALLY?? I then shot back with, what happens if I refuse it in 2012? She smugly answered me by saying that I won’t have any power in my house.
Folks, time they are a changing! I am posting this information in the hopes to educate you about this. The powers that be are counting on our ignorance to shove something down out throats that none of us want. Please read and watch the video and then you decide.
