At Your Feet

At your feet
I feel no pain from the defeat
At your feet
Light pushes the darkness in me back
At your feet
I find my once lost beat
At your feet
My pain is certain
But my joy knows no bounds
At your feet
My worries,doubts and fears fade
At your feet
Down I lay every one of my burdens
And pick up life’s eternal crown
At your feet
My tears unleash a torrent of my love for you
At your feet
Is where I’ll always want to be
At your feet
At your feet
At your feet.

Don’t Fear Your Wild Heart

Don’t fear your wild heart
Out of it come life’s finest treasures
Don’t fear your wild heart
It fuels your most intimate of passions
Don’t fear your wild heart
It makes you feel the highest and lowest compassion
Don’t fear your wild heart
It’s why you’re not numb
Don’t feel your wild heart
It feeds your wildest imaginations
Don’t fear your wild heart
In it,faith,hope and love thrive
Don’t fear your wild heart
It is the antithesis to all that your brain denies
Don’t fear your wild heart
It draws you away from the mundane
To soar higher and graze upon greener pastures
Don’t fear your wild heart
It makes you feel the sharpest of pain
It opens the door for you to change
Don’t fear your wild heart
It makes you feel love’s width ,depth, height and circumference

The most alive people
All posses wild hearts beating passionately, madly , boldly
The most alive people
Have all feared our wild hearts at some point
Then we awoke
After feeling like long dead corpses
We fell into a deep slumber
When we no longer followed our wild hearts
We succumbed to fear
Go on,put your hand to your chest
How fast does your heart beat?
Or can you barely pick up a pulse?
W.A.R.N.IN.G.:
My message
My words
My stories
My poems
Are not for the faint hearted
I come to awaken your wild heart
But that’s only if you want it!

YOUNG POETS REVOLUTION (YPR)

Dear readers, 2014 has begun with a BIG BANG for me! I was able to start my poetry group again. Due to unfortunate set backs, I had to put that labor of love aside for all of 2013. If you knew about my group back in 2012, we called ourselves The Henderson Poets. Now we have assumed a new name: YOUNG POETS REVOLUTION (YPR). We meet Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm at, https://www.facebook.com/thecoffeehouseonwaterstreet , the same venue that used to host us as the Henderson Poets. Our mission at YPR: To discover fresh, new voices who have not been heard before or who are struggling to be heard. YPR is open to ALL age groups!.  If you’re in our area, join  my lovely co-host, Elena Isabel Da’Silva and me, as we present  some amazingly talented local poets and musicians in Henderson,NV.ypr2

Verve- a Rare Word for Talent

What’s in Your cup these days?

Is it a monster that keeps you up at night

And speeds up your heart beat

Only to slow you down, making you feel as if you’ve lead feet?

Is it a red bull that causes you to panic

and makes you feel draggy

all the while you think you’re in Pamplona

with a hundred mad bulls raging after you?

What’s in MY cup these days?!?!

I am a no-nonsense kind of girl

I like neither hype  nor  whimsical fanfare

I do like things organic in nature

My food and my drink-

My kids must adore it, or else I won’t care

My food and my drink-

Must give me great nails and wonderful hair

So what’s in my cup these days?!?!?!

Well you asked, so I must tell you

2verve

Drink one and you’ll give up the monster

Drink two and the red bull goes away

Drink three or more

And you’ll experience vitality galore

So what are you waiting for?

Verve is not available in any store

So email this poet to  find out more!

Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

So I stayed with you to appease the beast
I had no lab formula
To tame that Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde
That you for so long tried to hide
Apparently my love was not the antidote
It’s now oh so clear that there’s no cure
For that sad pathetic beast that you are
You did great
Fooling me for all of those years
With all of your masks
Every time one mask fell
You’d run to put it back in
And I’d sweat it out a little
I was afraid to see the real person
Because let’s face it
You’ve always lived the life of Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde
I’d sleep next to a monster
Never really resting
Always with one eye opened
Certainly my heart mind or body
Never felt truly protected
Oh how my heart knew
Oh how my mind chose to ignore
Because I knew what lay in store
I too was in major denial
I told myself my love was enough
Until You took it all and still asked me for more
“ Well At least I didn’t destroy you,” said the beast
“ And who would want you?” Was one of your best lies
But now I know
Though you tried to shame me for so long
I am not ashamed
For you see as your beast bullied me
I grew stronger
As your beast raped me of my dignity
I found my self-confidence and security
As your beast starved me
I fed myself from the tree of life
As your beast circled about me waiting for my dead carcass
Help from the Ravens came and they fed me in the desert
That desert you abandoned and held me captive in
As you refused to water me
I learned from the desert plants
To store up water for the long drought
As you demolished my heart with your battering ram
It broke
Only to propagate itself
And now it’s one hundred times the size of the heart you first broke
So I thank that beast
Really?
Am I insane
Hardly!
The beast inside you
Made me the best I have ever been.
I bid thee well beast
I hope you get better
Just remember this:
You can’t touch a true heart
You can’t have what was not given you
What you took by force
You can not keep a free spirit in a cage
You can’t destroy what is full of life
I am that rose that grew in the concrete
Yeah that’s right, that stony heart of yours
Gave birth to this fragrant, amazing rose
I chose to live
You choose to die
So long beast!
