The circus came to town today
It seems to want to stay
The bearded lady’s cryin’
We all can see underneath all of her fray
The clowns are attempting mass distraction
Their red ball noses only get bigger
No one’s buying their silly antics
The Wallendas perch on their trapezes
…shhhhh please make sure no one sneezes
As they battle the cross winds and breezes
Barnum and Bailey had never seen such outlandish crowds
They OOOOHHHH
They AAHHH
How loudly they cheer and applaud
The caged elephants gently shedding their tears
The caged lions and tigers nervously pacing about
We all know this aint grandpa’s childhood circus
In those days people ran away to join le cirque
The players in this clown show
We’re all watching on the daily
Would have never worked for Barnum and Bailey
