Day 23 Question #23: What’s the best gift you’ve ever received from your children?
Answer: This question just made me chuckle as I readily knew the answer. I grew up in a very serious home where children were expected to behave as little adults. I had to suppress my humour a lot growing up because it was deemed inappropriate by the adults who raised me. I love to laugh and that is one of the best gifts my kids give me everyday. They all are hilarious in different ways.
My oldest girl loves to act and impersonate some famous celebs. Her rendition of Julia Child is hysterical. One time we had some friends over for dinner and she did her Julia child impression for our friends. They still talk about it because it was a hoot. My second daughter is witty and can come up with the best one liners. Sarcasm is her favorite way to get me laughing. My son has his own brand of jokes that he and his younger sister make up and when they get going with it, it is non-stop giggles. My youngest daughteris the girl of a thousand or more faces. I often wonder how can such a beautiful face turn ugly, goofy hilarious in five seconds flat.
All my kids have perfect timing as well.
My husband and I have often quipped that we don’t need TV when we have four funny, fun-loving kids who love entertaining us!
3. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
4. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him ‘Why do you carry a 45?’ The Ranger responded, ‘Because they don’t make a 46.’
5. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm ‘Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?”No Ma’am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.’
6 Beware the man who only carries one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!
But wait, there’s more!
I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said ‘Well I certainly hope it isn’t loaded!’ To which I said, of course it is loaded, it can’t work without bullets!’ She then asked, ‘Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?’ My reply was, “No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too”.
HAVE A NICE DAY But don’t Monkey with Me…
I’m a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment!
If you are too, please forward..
WHERE ELSE BUT AMERICA
ONLY IN AMERICA
We are the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment – yet we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents, clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies. Imagine if we gave ourselves the same support that we give other countries. I feel bad for them, but I wonder who cares about America .
99% of people won’t have the guts to forward this.
You are like a rainbow that comes out after a summer thunderstorm.
Your colors are iridescent, each representing a facet of your uniqueness.
The red is your heart filled with love and compassion.
You touch everyone in your world as you let the love in your heart overflow.
The green stands for the loyal sister and friend that you are to me.
Green symbolizes life;and yours is an exuberant one.
Yellow is refreshing and effervescent. The two qualities that make you stand out in a crowd.
Violet is the quiet and gentle spirit which you tend to hide when you’re feeling vulnerable.
But there are a few of us that know it’s there, and we do our best to protect that treasure within you.
Blue is the peaceful you. The state of being you can only achieve when you’ve spent time on
Papa God‘s comforting lap.
All these qualities and more make up my wonderful sister,Sandra ,the one I can always rely on.
When we were little, you were my constant companion.Even though we were separated, our lives have always run parallel to each other. Like two branches of the same river, both flowing toward the same destination;the ocean of a our God’s abundant and amazing love.
God placed a rainbow in the sky as a sign of His promise to never again destroy.
You are that promise to me,you are that rainbow!
With you in my corner, I rest assured knowing all is well.
