In the garden of Eden
Is where God met man’s needs
So He gave Him Eve
Who would help Adam to multiply his seeds
Through her kind words
Through her sensuous deeds…

I care less about things that used to bog me down
I didn’t say I don’t care
For that is a lie
When we tell ourselves we don’t care
Our brains wired for positivity only hear
I DO CARE!
So I choose to CARE LESS
I care less about my ex
Who was never a day in his life careful with me
I care less
Of what people think of me, my family or my work
I care less about careless people
I care less about tomorrow
Because I choose to be present NOW
I care less about the past
Because it no longer has a hold on me
I care less about
Trivial, mundane bullshit
I care less about gossip
Who really cares about the Hollywood starlets
And their privileged, boring lives they lead
Certainly not I!

That’s all there is to it
When you’ve been lied to
Don’t act like you’re gonna die
Don’t act like you aint never told one either
Don’t act like it’s the end of your pristine little world
You’ve lied before too
Faked an orgasm?
That’s a lie
Told your kids about Santa Clause?
That’s a lie
Denied things and wouldn’t face them?
That’s a lie
Broke a promise you’d swore you’d always keep?
That’s a lie too
So stop being a martyr when you catch some one in a lie
WE ALL LIE
Some tell white lies
Some tell big whopping tales
And yet we put lies on some sort of pay grade scale
When fact is: If you didn’t tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth:
So don’t make yourself feel better by down sizing your lie
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
The fool says in his heart, ” I only tell white lies.”
Let’s face it: People lie
You don’t have to confess it to a priest
Chances are he lies his ass off too
He’s human just like you and me

My home is a dark room
Negatives exposed to light
Composition taking place
Light filters for enhancement
We are making history
We are mending hearts
We are setting the captives free
Not by power
Not by might
But by the power of the living God
We have vision
We have purpose
We have destiny
And no one’s gonna stop us
Because from this dark room come:
The greatest stories ever told!

We all must change this
But not for ourselves so much
We all must change this
For the generations coming after us
What are we leaving them?
What will they remember us for?
Will we be called great ancestors?
Will we be called ancestral failures?
Will they hate us or
Will they thank us?

I had a dream last night
I met up with my wild heart
“Hey! What’s up?” He said
“Who are you?” I asked nervously
” I’m the one to take you to your destiny!” He proudly proclaimed
Oh, I shook
Oh, I quivered
Oh, I shrank back in fear….
He was like no other yet I liked him, not understanding why. He pushed me to the precipice of my unlived life, daring me to take a leap of faith. My heart pounded as a kettle drum keeping time in an orchestra. He glanced at me and tossed his head back laughing heartily, not at me, but at the unspoken fear that hung on me like visible grave clothes. The more I hung out with my wild heart, I grew to like him by the second.
He spoke truth piercing words that stung my lazy , stagnant flesh. He was gently prodding me awake and I wasn’t minding it one bit. Wild heart showed me my past and for the first time in my whole existence, I felt no shame. He explained that it’s because I’ve overcome all the pain with his help.
“Wait,” I asked, confused, ” We’ve met before?”
Wild Heart was amused with my question and answered me with a twinkle in his eye,
“I was with you from day one. You just never took the time to acknowledge me before. You listened to all the shoulds and should nots so I had to stay quiet and let you make up your mind.”
By the way, His sea-green eyes were deep pools of love, knowledge and understanding; I had to make myself not stare into them too intently or I’d drown in them.
” My deep apologies for not having listened to you until now,” I offered lamely. Wild Heart just gave me a hug as all my worries melted in his warm embrace; very much like the sun melts a piece of snow covered ground.
Next, Wild Heart took me to a high wall. It was the highest I’ve ever been and he picked me up with his steady hands, about to dunk me into a pool of sparkling waters with depths unknown to me. I was used to living in the lows of life so this didn’t startle me. Wild Heart sensed this some how, so just as quickly, he picked me up and twirled me about, way above the ground, much like a daddy does with an unsuspecting ,trusting infant. I wasn’t even dizzy and I never closed my eyes once, like the old me would have done. I was wide awake as I began to see everything around me in a new perspective. Once he put me down I asked,
“Why did you do that just now?”
” You’ve not really lived ’til now.” He paused to let his words sink into the depths of my soul.
” But,but, what?!” I stammered in disbelief, thinking I had accomplished so much for my 40 something years.
” No offense, but you’re young still,” he said with a wink.
” You’ve so much more to see, to hear, to feel, to touch, to smell. So many more people left for you to love. Your work has only just begun.”
I was overwhelmed now, Wild Heart could sense it and he added,
” Your time here is multiplied when you follow Me, your Wild Heart because you’re no longer living according to some one else’s rules. Live the kingdom life and you become immortal, eternal and unforgettable. Follow me and you’ll do so much more.” I found my voice and I asked him,
“When and where do I start?” He commended me,
“You’ve had a great start. Now, you just keep waking up the wild hearts who have fallen asleep and fallen by the wayside. That’s your task.” I was taken aback as I asked,
” So you’re pleased with the little I’ve done so far?” Putting his muscly arms around me he held me closely,
” Yes, indeed I AM that I AM!. And now go on, it’s time to brush off the gold dust of yesterday’s glories. Continue on your journey down this path that will bring you that crown which you’ll eventually cast down at my feet on that day of all days.”
Wild Heart left me with a riddle and my wild heart awakened beating as a kettle drum. Now the orchestra played a new symphony. I jumped out of my bed, fresh, alive and with new thoughts. I know where I’m going and I’ll never again not follow my wild heart. I bid you, I dare you, I implore you….won’t you do the same?!
IN PLAIN SIGHT
She met the curse of her lover’s eye. That day she’d never forget. Magdalena went from feeling safe in Pablo’s embrace to sleeping in the enemy’s arms. A chill pierced her being and she was heart-broken. Magdalena never knew love could crush with such an indomitable force. Once Pablo’s gaze melted her as gold in a furnace; now his eyes caused her to want to flee to the remotest part of the universe , as far away from his hateful, scornful glare. Magdalena knew things would never be the same since she saw his hatred for her there, in plain sight.

She speaks and the world listens.
With soothing words on her tongue, she can calm the storm in another’s soul. Her eyes will caress you and hold you. You feel the fire in her soul. Her heart beats to the sound of an unheard drum. Only she can hear that beat and she doesn’t care that others don’t. Her hands create life and restore what was lost. Her touch is gentle yet firm and your heart melts when she embraces you. Her lips tell the truth and if they ever dare to breathe a lie it’s because she learned from Rahab that at times people are more accepting of deception than the truth that would set them free.
She’s been hurt. Her heart crushed to fine powder; almost beyond recognition. But her fortitude lies in the fact that she gave her demolished heart to her God and left it in His hands trusting Him to do what He needed to restore it. But God surprised her completely by giving her a new heart all together. Not because He couldn’t fix the old one. He restored to her a better heart than what she had- taking the good from the one she had and putting it in the new vessel He gave her.
This woman walks with her head held high because she knows the worst is over. She has tread in places that would have driven someone else completely insane. She has suffered but never in vain because she always took the good from the bad. She was given a gift to discern even the slightest hint of light in pitch dark places. No matter what she’s been through, she’s been able to find the dynamic in the demonic. She can see greatness in the smallest of things. What others will dismiss as trivial and mundane, she can find the unique and special in. The people society throws away are the ones she’s drawn to because she too knows what it was like to be discarded at an early age.
