In December of 2008 a wonderful thing happened…it snowed where I live. I am not a big fan of snow. However, given the fact that I live in the desert, it made the rare weather occurance feel almost magical. Had this happened back in Atlanta where I lived 11 years ago, I wouldn’t have even taken picture. But snow in the desert… brought out the little kid in me. What a day that was! At one point late at night, I went outside and the whole neighborhood resembled something eerie almost like a scene right out of Steven King‘s THE SHINING.
Looking back on this photo reminds me how glad I am to live where I do. Moments like these are few and far in between and that’s how I like snow to be for me.

It’s Super Bowl Sunday! Really?? I don’t care one bit about the game. I am however, a HUGE fan of hanging out with family and friends, enjoying the company and eating food I normally don’t indulge in. I also enjoy hearing my husband laugh his head off over the commercials. That’s what Super Bowl Sunday means to me. How about you?

I visited the Micheal O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge which is right by Hoover Dam yesterday. This structure is colossal to say the least. When we first moved to Nevada there was no such bridge in existence. I am proud to say that I was able to see the bridge go up bit by bit in the 11 years that I’ve resided out here. If you’re ever out here in this part of the world, plan to make a trip to see this amazing bridge, my pics don’t do it much justice.

I will leave you with this photo I took when I went to Redondo Beach over the holidays. Do you ever wonder how places get their names? This beach is lovely, and yet Redondo, which means round in Spanish, just doesn’t make sense to me. So before I get redundant about Redondo Beach I wish you a happy day!

Have you ever met someone and you just knew by casual observation, that they are going to be somebody? Well I met this young woman last summer and she is exactly that. Some people come into the world to change things for the better and I believe she will. Some people are born knowing there purpose for being here right from the very start; this young woman certainly does. She is a delight to anybody who will take the time to really get to know her. I’m so glad I met you!
Can Men & Women Just Be Friends?
This video is a must for parents with teens as well as for adults. It’s just about using common sense and courtesy. Sometimes I wish we could go back to times when men behaved like gentlemen because women’s behavior encouraged them to do so. Enjoy your Saturday 🙂
