To know of someone here and there whom we accord with, who is living on with us, even in silence-this makes our earthly ball a peopled garden. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Friendship closes its eyes rather than see the moon eclipst; while malice denies that it is ever at the full.
365 Snap Shots of Life Blog Challenge: Day 59
Childhood is such a fleeting time in a person’s life. Mine wasn’t all that great and instead of being bitter about it I chose to give my kids what I didn’t get. I’m not referring to material things. All kids want is to be shown is love, affection affirmation and validation, consistently and unconditionally. Children ought not to have to perform to earn these. Give a child these and you would have won their heart, molded their soul and caused their spirit to awaken so they can go and be all they were created for. Have you hugged your kid(s) today and told them you love them no matter what?

365 Snap Shots of Life Blog Challenge: Day 57
When my kids were really young I’d make time to sit back and watch them play. One day on a cold and dreary Georgia winter day I took apart some shoe boxes. My two girls asked me what I was doing and I told them to get their markers because we were going to make some masks. I don’t remember why I ended up tracing out dinosaur heads that afternoon. They had such a fun time coloring the masks after I cut them out for them. Then for days after, they put on their masks and chased each other all over the place. Enjoy your Sunday and look back on pictures of your kids when they were smaller and see what good memories come back.

365 Snap Shots of Life Blog Challenge: Day 53

This is one of several shots I took of The Grand Canyon when I was there in 1998. The most amazing thing I discovered while I was there in the late afternoon, is that no matter where you stand, you feel tiny. I had never seen so many hues pop out all over, out of seemingly nowhere . The grand canyon defies description. I’m going to be so bold to use one word in a feeble attempt to describe it : CAPTIVATING.

Nothing speaks more to me of childhood than when I see a kid climbing a tree. At no other point in your life do you just think about hopping up on tree limbs, for enjoyment and to say you did it. Happy President’s Day Blog World!
