WRITER’S BLOCK: Myth or Fact?

Le refuge du marais...!!!

A while back my Mama and I were discussing “writer’s block“. My second daughter has also asked  me what I think about it. I  believe there isn’t such a thing as “writer’s block”; I told my Mama and my daughter,  why further torture yourself when you haven’t anything to say. You see this is what I know from my own personal experience as a writer. I write when I have something to say; during those times when I don’t, I know my creative flow is marinading in its own juices, so why not be at peace with it instead of beating your creative being up?

I see it as a time of reflection, when I go out and enjoy life and with my mental camera,  I’m snapping snap shots of life away and filing them for later use. So let me encourage you today by saying: Walk away from the writer’s block that only exists in your head! At times all we really need is rest from our work.

One last thought, we’re not machines that are constantly up and running. The creative process in everyone is as distinct and unique as our own  finger prints; I know this to be fact because we are all wired differently so that no two people think alike. Think I’m kidding? Than I suggest you read THE GIFT IN YOU by Dr. Caroline Leaf.

Smart Meters..How Smart Are They Really?

Smart Meter

A couple of months ago  I was notified by a “friendly” notice from Nevada Energy Power Company that they would be sending  a crew to my home to install a Smart Meter in order to replace the old analog meter. I thought, what’s wrong with the one I had  and then I thought nothing of it. A week or two later, a man showed up and removed the old analog meter and replaced it with a new Smart Meter ( SM ).

It’s been two months now and I am seeing a huge difference in my daughters who happen to have a bedroom right by the place where the SM is located. I contacted my Naturopath Doc and I told her about how my teen daughters are all of  sudden battling insomnia. She informed me of the truth behind the SM agenda and I am posting it on here for you to inform yourself.

Last Monday I contacted NV Energy and asked for the meter to be replaced. The woman I spoke with was less than friendly as she asked for a reason for having such a request. I told her the SM (Smart Meter) was disrupting our sleep patterns and she almost laughed in my face, saying she hasn’t heard of such an outlandish claim. I told her to go on the web and Google it because stories of how the  SMs are messing with people’s health are in abundance. She answered by saying that they can replace it but that in 2012, I’m going to have to take it back because by then the SMs will be mandatory. REALLY??  I then shot back with, what happens if I refuse it in 2012?  She smugly answered me by saying that I won’t have any power in my house.

Folks, time they are a changing! I am posting this information in the hopes to educate you about this. The powers that be are counting on our ignorance to shove something down out throats that none of us want. Please read and watch the video and then you decide.

A Tale from The Not SO Far Side

Karis was such a jerk for making me wear the ugliest pants that were ever made.

I think a little woman in India working for the Sear’s company was given a piece of fabric that should have been made into curtains, definitely NOT trousers. Chakori, as she was called, was ancient and her dark brown skin sagged so that her third eye had sunken all the way down to her chin.

One day she received a shipment of fabric in her hut, where she only sewed jeans. Once she opened the package, she figured she’d waste no time and she sewed a pair of pants from the fabric. Her boss, Kaamil; a young man who managed the local Dairy Queen where he made the most delicious curry ice cream, blasted Chakori out,” What have you done?” His voice bellowed, causing Chakori’s heart to tremble a little inside. ” Old woman, you have made pants from curtain material..What now?” Just then, Kamiil’s younger sister wandered into the hut and he said,” Madhu, try these on, if you like them keep them because we waste nothing around here.”

Madhu pulled the pants on and modeled them for her brother who seemed to think they looked great. He thought he had good taste in the world of fashion, but everyone who knew him thought otherwise. Kamiil ordered Chakori to make pants out of the 5 bolts of curtain fabric. Upon completion, he shipped the order to the Sear’s store in San Antonio, Texas.

A woman named Karis with no sense of style where her young niece was concerned ; bought a pair of the hideous trousers   for the young girl who was starting her 10th year of school. Lucky girl… I think not!

CHALLENGE!

Ok with all of the bad things that are happening in our world today it is very. very easy to start complaining and stay negative. I challenge you to grab a journal, small or large it doesn’t matter; and begin to take note of anything good and positive that happens to you in your day; whether it was something big or small, jot it down and name your journal My BRIGHT SPOT LOG. I began to do this a long time ago and it does help a person to keep focused on the good things in life. Caution: You have to be willing to tune into your life and keep your eyes and ears open to all of the blessings that are sent your way. BEWARE: Keeping a daily record of the bright spots in your day will cause you to smile and be thankful. One last thought: As you read back on your journal, you’ll see how God so does care about you and that will strengthen your trust in Him.

I will start mine here to give you an idea of how easy this is 🙂 GO!!!

BRIGHT SPOT LOG:

I went to the gym with Heidi and Elena.

I helped  Mamacita start her blog!

My husband is fixing the car so the breaks won’t go out on us.

My 4 kids went to your group last night at church and when they all came back they said they had a good time in God’s Presence.

Heidi turned me on to Bar-B-Cue Chicken Pizza..talk about YUMMMM.

Raquel was given so many clothes she had to empty out her closet so she could make room for the new clothes.

See..it’s THAT easy to be thankful and you’ll put a smile on God’s face because He loves it when His people thank Him!

BE THANKFUL IN ALL THINGS!

Bon Jour Dieu!

I want to greet you in other languages because I wonder if you ever get tired of hearing English all the time 🙂

Please watch over my friend who is serving our country in Afghanistan right now. Please protect him and help him out with his duties over seas. When he gets weary and home sick, let him know you are near. Help his family out in his absence by meeting all of their needs while he’s away.

God, I’m not going to stand out here and bring you my laundry list. You deserve so much, much more than that!  So instead I shall tell you how fantastic you are because I know you like it when I praise you.

Thanks for resolving that conflict that I had with that one business; I don’t need to mention names because I know you know who I’m referring to. Grant me favor!

You are so beautiful to me. There was a song like that; wasn’t it back in the ‘7o’s? Anyways, the song suits you and so I shall sing you the little bit I know. Hang on though because that’s the ONLY line I know. hee hee

The US flag I have hanging in front of my house reminds me to pray for all of our troops defending our freedom here at home and over seas. God, America needs you more than ever right now, so I’m sending out an S.O.S. confident that you ARE hearing your people and responding accordingly.

Chao for now!

 Je t’aime mon Dieu!

Talk from The Clothes Line Part 1

I enjoy hanging my family’s laundry out to dry on a clothes line my husband made by the side of our house. I live in the desert so in the summer the clothes are air dried in a matter of minutes. For years I have done this and I want to share some of the things I muse over in my mind as I talk to God while I hang the clothes.

Hey God, I ‘m so glad you meet me out here as I do this because I don’t feel so alone in this heat. Please tell the annoying wind to stop blowing so hard b/c I’ll get sand on these fresh clean clothes…Thanks! ( As the wind quiets) 🙂

You are so cool God! You have given my family and I so many blessings that when I sit down to write them all I run out of paper. Since you bless me so much in big and little ways everyday; feel free to tell me what I can do for you today to make you smile.

Thanks  for letting me write JR’s story. A long time ago I had a t-shirt that said: ” Speak for those who can’t speak for themselves” printed on the front of it. Well I never forgot that and ever since You have been blessing me for doing just that.

Ok, I’ll be back with the next load. It’ll be the whites; since it’s pretty big load, I’ll be out here more with you God. Thanks for hearing me and as always I look forward to our next chat! Chao!

Edge of Ice Cream & Cheez-it Songs :)

My 10 year old daughter loves to write rhymes and I want to  delight you with some of her work. Enjoy your ice cream and cheez-its!

EDGE OF ICE CREAM SONG
I’m on the edge of ice cream,
and I’m holdin’ on to my sundae.
I’m on the edge of ice cream
and I’m eating my cherry on top.
I’m on the edge
the edge,
the edge,
the edge,
the edge,
the edge,
I’m on the edge of ice cream,
and I found myself in Yogurt Land,
Yogurt Land!

Cheez-it Song
Bye it, get it, eat it, CHEEZ-it!
Drink it, cool it, eat it, Cheez-it.
You know when you’re at the store,
you know you wanna get boxes and boxes
of Cheez-its and more.
So you have boxes of Cheez-its in your cart;
‘cos when you run out, you’ll get some at K-Mart.
It doesn’t matter if it’s in a chemical kit or a house…
I JUST WANT A CHEEZ-IT!!!!!!!!!
