Canned Anything Sucks

Canned prayers are like canned potato chips, canned soup or any kind of canned food. Canned food lacks vital nutrients necessary to sustaining our bodies. When we pray, God wants to hear each of our own distinct spirits; our spirit has its own unique voice. When your child asks you for something,,you hear their own unique voice. So why do religious people recite their religious prayers and incantations over and over? God doesn’t want canned voices that all sound the same  millennia  after millennia. Remember the old sit-coms ? You hear canned laughter in the back ground right? That means those voices we hear in those old TV shows are probably coming from dead people. We need fresh, un-canned expressions TODAY, not  from the past.

The disciples learned to pray from their Teacher. He didn’t tell them to recite The Lord’s prayer ; that was just a prayer manual, one they could follow and learn how to approach the King . Certainly not to say the same words over and over. Oh how religion wants everyone to be a Pringle’s Potato chip: All the same shape, same taste, all fit neatly together stacked in a metal can.. I believe heaven and its citizens crave to hear each unique voice on earth.

Unique self expression is the most powerful weapon a person can use. Your own voices unleashes things into the atmosphere and sets things in motion in the universe. Not one star is the same. Not one snow flake is the same. So why do people try so hard to be like some one else? Even our brains are wired differently. No 2 people on planet earth think exactly the same. So it’s reasonable that we’re all different voices  and each one of us must utter what is in our hearts to set things in motion. The Bible is not a here is what to say to God type of book. It goes beyond that. It’s a how to approach heaven using your own voice to unlock what is yours through the power of your own distinct expression. Heaven remains locked up when no one dares to step forward to use their own voice.

Martin Luther set the religious system upside down by nailing his own unique expression to the door of the established church. The whole universe was in an uproar when Galileo defied religion’s rules that dictated how the universe runs. Where are The Martin Luthers and Galileos of our time? Stand up and be heard if you’re one of them!!

” The Bible teaches how to get to heaven not how the heavens go.” -Galileo

She Speaks and the World Listens

She speaks and the world listens.
With soothing words on her tongue, she can calm the storm in another’s soul. Her eyes will caress you and hold you. You feel the fire in her soul. Her heart beats to the sound of an unheard drum. Only she can hear that beat and she doesn’t care that others don’t. Her hands create life and restore what was lost. Her touch is gentle yet firm and your heart melts when she embraces you. Her lips tell the truth and if they ever dare to breathe a lie it’s because she learned from Rahab that at times people are more accepting of deception than the truth that would set them free.

She’s been hurt. Her heart crushed to fine powder; almost beyond recognition. But her fortitude lies in the fact that she gave her demolished heart to her God and left it in His hands trusting Him to do what He needed to restore it. But God surprised her completely by giving her a new heart all together. Not because He couldn’t fix the old one. He restored to her a better heart than what she had- taking the good from the one she had and putting it in the new vessel He gave her.

Sweetness and depth, this is all of woman; this is Heaven.”
― Victor HugoLes Misérables

This woman walks with her head held high because she knows the worst is over. She has tread in places that would have driven someone else completely insane. She has suffered but never in vain because she always took the good from the bad. She was given a gift to discern even the slightest hint of light in pitch dark places. No matter what she’s been through, she’s been able to find the dynamic in the demonic. She can see greatness in the smallest of things. What others will dismiss as trivial and mundane, she can find the unique and special in. The people society throws away are the ones she’s drawn to because she too knows what it was like to be discarded at an early age.

BLACK & WHITE and then There’s the Grey

Once in your life or maybe more, things happen and you wonder what the hell was that. He made you smile just like you made him. Does it have to be complicated? And why aren’t things more simple? Why are we over thinking and over stressing and just why not go with the flow. Ahhhhhh, because your traditions condemn you and they yell at you in your head, telling you that you shan’t, you shan’t you SHAN’T! So, stop “shoulding”  on yourself already! Life is too short and really, you only get one time here so make it the best possible ride.

When we were younger some of us were taught that life only consists of black and white. Now that you’ve lived some life and experienced up and downs you see that there is a lot  more grey to life than they ever let on. Funny, in the Bible the 10 Commandments are the only “black and white” of life. Do this and this will happen. Don’t do this and this won’t happen. That’s it, end of story, simple as that. Read that ancient book and you will see that God is a good God and that He wants us to enjoy our lives.

My mama told me the other day , “ Let your hair down and have a good time because you’ll have a lot of time later on to think of heaven.” That’s advise that comes from a woman I love, admire and respect and she is close to 70 years old. So I shall take that and run with it because I figured she ought to know since she’s lived close to 30 years more than me.

Go on, take a chance on life, after all, what have you to lose? Try something new you never did before. If you don’t like it, move on. Live your life as a series of adventures awaiting your discovery and not a series of events you have to endure.

Love, Serve, Let Go!

Life goes on and on. You go where God‘s Spirit leads you; you love, you serve, you give it all you have and then you let go. Yeshua said  that The Spirit comes and goes; no one knows where He came from and no one knows where He’s going to show up next. So are those of us that are of His Spirit. We MUST learn to flow with The Holy Spirit‘s current.

Hover where He hovers. Hover signifies a sort of floating as a cloud that then lifts and moves on after a little while. We get too comfortable way too quickly. We always long to put down roots. The Spirit of God is so opposite of this; He hovers, He lingers, He moves on. And so must we if we are to stay true to His nature, true to His ways, true to His character…true to His LOVE. I don’t ever want to live one single day out of sync with The Holy Spirit.

Somebody better look out for me
Although I stand alone
I’m more dangerous than I seem
But in this smoking gun world
Our lights don’t last
They’re over fast

Life goes on
Goes on and on
On and on
Life goes on
Goes on and on
On and on

Although I really don’t know
Your time is fading fast
I wake up in a wasted world
How long is it gonna last
Under pressure and pain
What may be right may be wrong

-Andy Taylor “Life Goes On”

On The Menu: Humble Pie

Humble people are cool to hang out with. They have no interest on impressing anybody. They are confident and self assured; they are not in competition with anyone because they know who they are. They don’t break a sweat when they are falsely accused. Humble folks don’t mind eating their fair share of humble pie because they know it’s good to do so in order to mature. A meek person has a gentle spirit, however they are far from weak. Their humility gives them a strength that is strong enough to endure anything life throws their way.  I have chosen my lot in life and I have made friends with some of the most humble people because they help me to stay true to my God, myself and my destiny.

Humility-1. In ethics, freedom from pride and arrogance; humbleness of mind; a modest estimate of one’s own worth. In theology, humility consists in lowliness of mind; a deep sense of one’s own unworthiness in the sight of God, self-abasement, penitence for sin, and submission to the divine will.

Before honor is humility. Prov.15.
