Dying to Live, Loving to Die

What goes
Is what you let go
What stays is what you welcome
What flourishes
Is what you nurture
What dies
Is what you starve
What Fails
Is what you discouraged
What blooms
Is what you pruned
What is, is what you allowed
What is not, is what you dismissed
What you run away from
Is what will catch up with you
What you abandoned
Is what haunts you
What you refused to acknowledge
Is what will scream at you
In your loneliest of nights
The lie you told
Will tell on you
The truth you with held
Will annihilate you
The love you denied
Will embitter you
The hate you embraced
Will cripple you
You think you only die once?
Fools die stung by their own bitter gall
You think you only die once?
We’ve all been dying since the day we were born.

LEAVING NORMAL

What does it mean to bring a new life into this world?
It means:
To love more
To hate less
To care more
To put an and to carelessness
To say more with fewer words
To put your love into action
And talk less trash
To feel more and stop numbing yourself
To leave your comfort zone
Only to find your trusted comfort zone, was actually more uncomfortable than you thought
You were just too afraid to admit it
To see more and stop turning a blind eye to life
To listen more and stop tuning life out with the noise you choose to filter the world through
To hear with your heart’s ear drum and follow that beat no matter where it takes you
To put away all those things that keep you blind, numb, deaf and dumb….

Mis Manos

I look at my hands
These hands that touched you first as you entered this life
They’re not extraordinary hands
They’ve not designed rocket ships
They’ve not drafted blue prints for a magnificent work of architecture
They’ve not operated on a human heart or brain
They’ve not touched millions of dollars
They’ve not been adorned with the most expensive of gold, silver and precious stones
They’ve not graced the latest fashion magazine covers
But I’ll tell you what they have done:
They have held babies from sun up ’til sun down
Wiped noses , bottoms and toes
Cooked, I can’t remember how many meals
Sewed, I lost track of the stitches and dresses
Disciplined several naughty toddlers
Wiped away, I forgot how many tears
Written so many words
On countless blank pages
Painted using fingers, brushes and knives
On many a canvas
Cleaned up the clutter
Washed all the clothes
And through it all, these hands that first touched you as you made your grand entrance
Into this great ,big world
Will always touch, caress and comfort you
I’ll hold your hand in mine
Together we’ll both learn of the mysteries of this universe.

BRINGING BIRTH BACK HOME!

Hello Dear Followers! I have been a way for sometime due to one big reason: My daughter was pregnant and about to give birth to my first grand child. Meet Clara Isabel Brincat. She was a PLANNED unassisted home birth that took place on June 17,2014 at 3:55pm. Both mama and baby are doing GREAT during their baby moon and I am still elated to have become a grandma 🙂 In the next few days I will share with you some of my thoughts on having assisted my daughter in bringing this precious life into the world. I tell you once you have delivered a baby, you never see life the same again!!!!

SOFT HEARTS/HARD HEARTS

Soft hearts don’t shatter
Hard hearts do
Soft hearts bend
Hard hearts are rigid
Soft hearts feel
Hard hearts are numb
Soft hearts weep a deluge
Hard hearts are dry like the desert
Soft hearts grow
Hard hearts stagnate
Soft hearts are sweet
Hard hearts are bitter
Soft hearts understand
Hard hearts twist
Soft hearts lament
Hard hearts are remorse free
Soft hearts see
Hard hearts are blind
Soft hearts listen
Hard hearts are deaf
Soft hearts reach out
Hard hearts draw back
Soft hearts stay open
Hard hearts are shut tight
Soft hearts forgive
Hard hearts never turn the other cheek
Soft hearts are teachable
Hard hearts know it all
Soft hearts give life
Hard hearts kill and mame
Soft hearts are child like
Hard hearts are childish
Soft hearts are generous
Hard hearts keep it all for themselves
Soft hearts love
Hard hearts fear
Soft hearts encourage
Hard hearts discourage
Soft hearts are dauntless
Hard hearts cower
Soft hearts speak softly
Hard hearts speak harshly
Soft hearts tell the truth
Hard hearts deny
Soft hearts are light
Hard hearts are dark
Soft hearts are scar covered
Hard hearts are intact
Soft hearts let love in
Hard hearts keep love out
Soft hearts are the antidote to hate
Hard hearts spread hate like multiplying cancer cells
Soft hearts:
May we know them
May we BE them
May we help hard hearts become soft.

DECISIONS

The making up of your mind is a slow process
Everyday you make up your mind
A confrontation
A Decision
Must be made
Up ahead
At the place where the road turns
You must decide
No one leaves a marriage
On the spur of the moment
You don’t pull the plug
On some one on life support
On a split second decision
Big out comes are decided
Long before they happen….

Your Name on the Door

I’ve always been a good swimmer
Until the day we met
That’s when I wanted to
Drown myself in you
Take all of you in
Every single last drop
So none is wasted
I want to immerse myself in you

I always played it safe
Until we met
That was my heart’s last comfortable day
I decided right then
To cast off my life jacket
And I’m so glad I did

You continue to show me new ways to swim against the current
Because of you, the 10 foot waves no longer intimidate
Because of you, I can surf the high tide
And if no tide comes
I can stay put knowing it’ll be there tomorrow
Just as sure as it was here today

I was dead from the pain
My heart was used to being kicked around and smashed into infinitesimally, tiny shards

That was then, this is now

Come rest in my heart’s room
The one with your name on the door
You’ll be safe there
You’ll be nurtured and fed
I ask this from you:
Never raise your voice
Never slam the door
Never stomp angrily about
Never break any windows
Never punch any walls
Follow these simple steps
And in my heart you’ll forever stay….
