365 Snap Shots of Life Blog Challenge: Day 79

I posted this up here on a Monday in the hopes it brings a smile to your face since Mondays are rough for lots of people. This child LOVES her churros. The best ones are the ones that  every bite you take, melts in your mouth and they are nice and warm, just fresh out of the churro maker. The worst churros are cold ones that have set on a shelf all day and they’ve been marked down :/ You’re better off eating some card board with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top. The little person in this picture claims that churros are cinnamon rolls in stick form. Do you agree or disagree? Get back with me on this poll and I’ll pass on the results to her. Have a GREAT Monday!!!

365 Snap Shots of Life Blog Challenge: Day 59

Childhood is such a fleeting time in a person’s life. Mine wasn’t all that great and instead of being bitter about it I chose to give my kids what I didn’t get. I’m not referring to material things. All kids want is to be shown is love, affection affirmation and validation,  consistently and unconditionally. Children ought not to have to perform to earn these. Give a child these and you would have won their heart, molded their soul and caused their spirit to awaken so they can go and be all they were created for. Have you hugged your kid(s) today and told them you love them no matter what?

365 Snap Shots of Life Blog Challenge: Day 57

When my kids were really young I’d make time to sit back and watch them play. One day on a cold and dreary Georgia winter day I took apart  some shoe boxes. My two girls asked me what I was doing and I told them to get their markers because we were going to make some masks. I don’t remember why I ended up tracing out dinosaur heads that afternoon. They had such a fun time coloring the masks after I cut them out for them. Then for days after, they put on their masks and chased each other all over the place. Enjoy your Sunday and look back on  pictures of your kids when they were smaller and see what good memories come back.

The Grand Canyon

This is one of several shots I took of The Grand Canyon when I was there in 1998. The most amazing thing I discovered while I was there in the late afternoon, is that no matter where you stand, you feel tiny. I had never seen so many hues pop out all over, out of seemingly nowhere . The grand canyon defies description. I’m going to be so bold to use one word in a feeble attempt to describe it  : CAPTIVATING.

PEOPLE PLEASE STOP HATING

Have we become so callous as a human race that we can’t say anything nice when some one passes away? People would rather speak badly of the ones who go before us than remembering them for anything good they may have done in their lives. We are all human. We all make mistakes. Not one of us is perfect. So before any one of us casts a stone at someone who has fallen, look inside yourself and see if you’ve arrived…chances are you’re like the rest of us are: WORKS IN PROGRESS.
