Me and my shadow, Nevada by Eva Santiago
“My daughter Raxy loves to pose for the camera. I took this picture of her when she was 8 years old in my back yard. I love photographing my kids!” – comment of the photographer
Thank you Eva!

This is one of several shots I took of The Grand Canyon when I was there in 1998. The most amazing thing I discovered while I was there in the late afternoon, is that no matter where you stand, you feel tiny. I had never seen so many hues pop out all over, out of seemingly nowhere . The grand canyon defies description. I’m going to be so bold to use one word in a feeble attempt to describe it  : CAPTIVATING.

I took this at Saguaro National park in Arizona. It was spring and I never thought I’d find vibrant colors in a desert. My opinion on desert living is that you either love it and stay, or hate it and leave. Surprisingly, the desert grew on me to where I love it now that I’ve been out here 12 years. Have a great Mardi Gras!

This video requires no explanation. Please watch and you’ll see what I mean. Enjoy your evening!
Nothing speaks more to me of childhood than when I see a kid climbing  a tree. At no other point in your life do you just think about hopping up on  tree limbs, for enjoyment and to say you did it. Happy President’s Day Blog World!

I have several muses and among them are my 4 extremely photogenic kids. Around my home I call them camera hogs, they don’t mind because it’s true. I long to have a very nice camera one day. For now, I keep using what I have. I am one of those people who is more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it. One of my daughters always insists on taking my picture and I let her because she’s right in what she says,” Mama, how are we going to remember you when there are hardly any pictures of your around?” So I sigh and I let her shoot me 🙂 I wish you a happy Sunday!!

WHEN THE CHILDREN CRY- White Lion
little child
dry your crying eyes
how can I explain
the fear you feel inside
cause you were born
into this evil world
where man is killing man
and no one knows just why
what we have become
just look what we have done
all that we destroyed
you must build again
when the children cry
let them know we tried
cause when the children sing
then the new world begins
Have we become so callous as a human race that we can’t say anything nice when some one passes away? People would rather speak badly of the ones who go before us than remembering them for anything good they may have done in their lives. We are all human. We all make mistakes. Not one of us is perfect. So before any one of us casts a stone at someone who has fallen, look inside yourself and see if you’ve arrived…chances are you’re like the rest of us are: WORKS IN PROGRESS.
