MAKE THEM LABEL ‘GMO’ FOOD!

GOOD TO SIGN…MAKE THEM LABEL ‘GMO’ FOOD…..I hope you sign this !

PLEASE SHARE.  WE NEED TO HAVE GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS LABELED SO WE HAVE THE CHOICE TO BUY THEM OR NOT.  Monsanto doesn’t want them labeled because they know people do not want to eat GMO foods.  God only knows what they will put in them in the future.  Already many products use GMO products from Monsanto and the public has no idea they are eating this stuff.

This is a critical issue - JustLabelIt.org is working on a major petition of historic proportions, asking the FDA to require labeling of GMO foods.  GMO’s are labeled in almost every other country that has them, and we have a right to know when our food is genetically modified.  The goal is one million signatures and they are only 12,500 awayfrom achieving it!  Will you please help, and forward this widely?  It will just take a minute to sign the petition and pass on!

Help us make history and send one million comments to the FDA.

We only have 10 days to reach our goal.

Please tell 5 friends to contact the FDA today. Just forward the email below!

Hi all,

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is preparing to approve genetically engineered salmon, which would be the first genetically engineered animal on supermarket shelves in the United States. The salmon is engineered to produce hormones year-round that cause the fish to grow at twice its natural rate. But without labels, we’ll never know.

It’s make it or break it time. We have just 10 days to reach the goal of sending a record-breaking ONE MILLION comments to the FDA in support of labeling genetically engineered foods. We only need 12,500 more people to send comments to the FDA to meet our goal and we need your help.

There’s only 10 days until the FDA’s “due date” to respond publicly to the petition calling for GMO labeling – and every comment is a statement that Americans care about what’s in their food.  That’s why I submitted a comment to the FDA demanding that genetically engineered foods be labeled. And in about 30 seconds and with just a few clicks, you can join me.  Will you tell the FDA that you support mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods too?  With our one million comments we will be making history: this will set a new record!

But we need your help in this race to the finish line. Please click on the link below and then forward this email to friends, family members, and colleagues and ask them to join you in contacting the FDA.

We all have a right to know whether our food has been genetically engineered so we can make informed decisions about what we eat or feed our families. In fact, against the backdrop of a deeply divided nation, polls show that more than 92 percent of Americans agree on labeling GMOs.  This issue cuts across partisan lines, and with your help, our leaders in Washington won’t be able to sidestep this issue any longer. Help us reach this milestone by making an urgent, last minute push to the people you know.

Send the message below to 5 of your friends or family members – tell them we have a right to know how our food is produced.

FARMERS vs Monsanto

Dear readers please read this information and share it with as many people as you can. if you care about the future of our food, help spread the word about this very real threat . Thanks!

-Eva Santiago

The landmark case, Organic Seed Growers and Trade Association (OSGATA) et al v. Monsanto was filed on March 29, 2011 on behalf of family farmers, seed businesses and agricultural organizations in an effort to challenge Monsanto’s patents on genetically modified (GMO) seeds and protect farmers from the biotech seed and chemical giant’s abusive patent infringement lawsuits.

Between 1997 and 2010, 144 farmers have already been sued by Monsanto and another 700 have settled out of court for undisclosed sums. Many times these abusive lawsuits force farmers into bankruptcy and off the land. We can’t allow this to continue.

As a plaintiff in the lawsuit, Food Democracy Now! will be there and will deliver your signatures to the family farmers to make sure that they know that citizens everywhere stand with them.

Thank you for joining us in making a stand with family farmers – now help spread the word!

Dave, Lisa and the Food Democracy Now! team

P.S. Will you chip in $5 or $10 to assist family farmers traveling to New York to take part in their historic day in court? Every bit helps and together we make a difference! Help us make sure farmers have their voice heard over Monsanto’s.

To those who are interested and are near enought to be able, Food Democracy Now! and our fellow plaintiffs invite you to take part in a Citizen’s Assembly of Support for Family Farmers vs. Monsanto outside the NYC courthouse in an effort to stand up for America’s farmers at this crucial moment in their quest for justice. Click here to RSVP and learn more about how to participate outside the courtroom.

On January 31, family farmers will take part in the first phase of a court case filed to protect farmers from genetic trespass by Monsanto’s GMO seed, which contaminates organic and non-GMO farmer’s crops and opens them up to abusive lawsuits. In the past two decades, Monsanto’s seed monopoly has grown so powerful that they control the genetics of nearly 90% of five major commodity crops including corn, soybeans, cotton, canola and sugar beets.

In many cases farmers are forced to stop growing certain organic and conventional crops to avoid genetic contamination and potential lawsuits. Between 1997 and 2010, Monsanto admits to filing 144 lawsuits against America’s family farmers, while settling another 700 out of court for undisclosed amounts. Due to these aggressive lawsuits, Monsanto has created an atmosphere of fear in rural America and driven dozens of farmers into bankruptcy.

Farmers need your voice today. Please spread the word today.
