Day 9 Question 9: What was the first “big item” that you bought when you were first married?
Answer: I was in my last year of Fashion Design school and my old sewing machine was on the brink. I had a huge project due and the old clunker would ruin my fabric every time I’d try to sew on it. The noises it made were somewhat akin to a combination of an old engine and an old horse that’s been put out to pasture. One night, with an encroaching dead line breathing down my neck, I picked up the old dinosaur and I threw it against the kitchen wall. I surprised myself with my own strength. My husband came in to see what was the matter and he didn’t have to ask, once he saw the old beast laying there lifeless. He told me to relax and that we’d go out and buy a new one the next day. So that was my first “big item” I bought as a newly wed.

A couple of months ago I was notified by a “friendly” notice from Nevada Energy Power Company that they would be sending a crew to my home to install a Smart Meter in order to replace the old analog meter. I thought, what’s wrong with the one I had and then I thought nothing of it. A week or two later, a man showed up and removed the old analog meter and replaced it with a new Smart Meter ( SM ).
It’s been two months now and I am seeing a huge difference in my daughters who happen to have a bedroom right by the place where the SM is located. I contacted my Naturopath Doc and I told her about how my teen daughters are all of sudden battling insomnia. She informed me of the truth behind the SM agenda and I am posting it on here for you to inform yourself.
Last Monday I contacted NV Energy and asked for the meter to be replaced. The woman I spoke with was less than friendly as she asked for a reason for having such a request. I told her the SM (Smart Meter) was disrupting our sleep patterns and she almost laughed in my face, saying she hasn’t heard of such an outlandish claim. I told her to go on the web and Google it because stories of how the SMs are messing with people’s health are in abundance. She answered by saying that they can replace it but that in 2012, I’m going to have to take it back because by then the SMs will be mandatory. REALLY?? I then shot back with, what happens if I refuse it in 2012? She smugly answered me by saying that I won’t have any power in my house.
Folks, time they are a changing! I am posting this information in the hopes to educate you about this. The powers that be are counting on our ignorance to shove something down out throats that none of us want. Please read and watch the video and then you decide.
Today my writing group met and we all chose props to write with. This is so fun! I chose a pair of black opera style gloves and a Spanish fan. Here is what came to mind as I held the fan in my hand and I wore the gloves. Note of interest: Writing with gloves is tough!
Elena stands on the balcony gazing deeply into the blazing skies. It’s sunset in Andalusia and the air is charged with electricity as Elene awaits the return of Zorro;her friend and lover. She fans her porcelain face nervously as a smile steals across her radiant countenance. Her mind meanders to that long ago night filled with terror and suspense.
The night when she first saw him, her heart skipped five beats inside her chest. Back then she was but a blushing young girl. Tonight is different, this is her luna de miel; and she looks longingly across the fiery plain and sees the silhouette of her dark knight. Elena runs out to meet him, she can wait no longer. She drops her fan on the cobblestone road. Zorro sees it and grabs it before it hits the ground. He hands it to his adoring bride and she opens it to conceal her blushing smile.
Zorro dismounts Estupido, his never on time black stallion and kisses her black silky gloved hand,as he whispers in her ear,” Take off th glove, I want to feel my lips on your bare skin.” Elena obliges him and as he kisses her long, lovely fingers, he slips a breath taking 3k diamond on her wedding ring finger. Zorro sweeps enchanting Elena off her feet and she rides beside him on Estupido, the never on time stallion. The trio ride off into the dusk as the air is lightly scented with Elena’s wild rose musk.
I wanted to share this with you, it was written by one of the members in my writing group yesterday. She asked to be kept anonymous and I shall respect her wishes. One thing I must say is that this lovely young woman has the potential to be a great writer one day. By coming to my group, I hope to unlock the writer within her. Thanks my friend for allowing me to share this!
This place is very still,
unlike the world around it
which bustles about it impatiently.
It is at rest,
yet somehow searching
like the people inside it:
Peaceful and wondering -
at least for the moment.
